Rokas Berziunas (b. 1983) graduated the National M. K. Ciurlionis School of Art (specialty - sculpture). In 2006 he obtained the degree of bachelor in Vilnius Academy of Arts, in specialty of interior design. Since 2005 he is actively engaged in acrylic pictorial art, organizes exhibitions. In 2014 became a member of Lithuanian Artists' Association.
BIOGRAPHY
Rokas Berziunas was born on June 14 in 1983 in Vilnius.
From 1994 to 2002 he studied and graduated the National M. K. Ciurlionis School of Art (specialty -sculpture). In 2006 he obtained the degree of bachelor in Vilnius Academy of Arts, in specialty of interior design. In 2014 became a member of Lithuanian Artists' Association.
Rokas Berziūnas is quite young, but already recognized artist; his successful exhibitions keep attracting attention of art collectors in Lithuania and abroad. Since 2005 he is actively engaged in acrylic pictorial art, organizes exhibitions and participates in painting plenaries. He has also arranged more than fifteen solo exhibitions.
Artist‘s works are abstract – but this abstractionism allows to penetrate into much more coded meanings. He, as Stalker, leads us into a mysterious world, speaking entity of the earth and the universe.
Abstractions can be described as literary, as they are not just abstract spots, talking by colours. Each image may have something to remind you: the cosmic nebulae, stellar explosions, and stardust in space, surfaces and ridges of the unknown planets, shadows of life in the space.
R. Berziunas calls to take off from the ground and rise into a world of fantasy, colour and shape where do exist bright light and complete darkness. It could be a view from an artificial earth satellite, space station or any other natural or artificial body flying in the inter-universe space. It is interesting that, looking at the ground from way up high, the artist takes a magnifying glass and then starts watching. Later he begins painting... In other words, in the paintings of artist R. Berziunas there are clear focuses of our native globe fragments. This is confirmed even by the fact that in order to extract a matt, slightly rough texture and its different nuances, in his paints the painter uses various inorganic structures – for example, beach sand from Nida or ashes from Etna volcano.
